CHICAGO, Dec. 10, 2014 — Gar Wood Securities, LLC was recognized by Pension and Investments as one of the nation’s top Equity Brokers for broker execution quality ranking, where it earned a top 10 spot in 4 out of 5 categories that was based on market capitalization.
The survey is a ranking of the top 50 U.S. brokers measured by the difference in cost/savings against the Elkins/McSherry Arrival Price universe, the industry standard in measuring market impact.
In Trades by market capitalization, Gar Wood ranked 9th in giant-cap; 8th in mid-cap; 9th in small-cap, and 6th in micro-cap. In the Trades by Liquidity category, Gar Wood ranked 9th in orders of 50% or greater of the daily average volume.
“We are very proud of our traders and our trade routing algorithms that seek to add value to every trade that we execute,” said Bob Jersey, President & CEO of Gar Wood Securities. “Gar Wood is an agency only firm; as such, we do not trade on a proprietary basis, which eliminates potential conflict of interests in trade execution and routing decision,” Jersey went on to say.
“The survey demonstrates that the quality of execution for our clients is a top priority,” said Craig Gantar, SVP and Sales Manager at Gar Wood.
The industry rankings were released this last week in Tradewatch, a report published by Pension & Investments, and based on transaction costs conducted by New York-based Elkins/McSherry, a subsidiary of Boston’s State Street Corp.
