A Day on the Course: Recapping the 6th Annual KGF Celebrity Pro-Am

On Saturday, June 20th, Gar Wood Securities joined the Kids Golf Foundation and Bo Jackson's Give Me A Chance Foundation at Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois for the 6th Annual KGF Celebrity Pro-Am. We were proud to support this year's event, and we're glad to share a look back at the weekend.

The event ran across three days. Thursday evening brought a celebration with celebrities at Capri Ristorante in Burr Ridge. Participants stayed overnight at Rich Harvest Farms on Friday, ahead of Saturday's 9:00am shotgun start, with registration, breakfast, and the range opening at 7:00am.

Bo Jackson was in attendance throughout the day along with various celebrity appearances including actor Taylor Kinney who rounded out our own Bobby and Tom's group with John Lancaster and Mike Massaro from Porte Brown Accountants & Advisors. This year's event was sponsored by Gar Wood Securities, alongside the Gary A. Hansberger Foundation, Calamos Investments, and Midwestern University.

Continued Growth for the Kids Golf Foundation

The Kids Golf Foundation shared an update on its progress. Since the event, the organization has added new programs, bringing its 2026 total to 91 programs across Illinois.

From the Kids Golf Foundation team:

"What an incredible day at the 6th Annual KGF Celebrity Pro-Am! The weather could not have been better, and we hope you enjoyed your time at Rich Harvest Farms. As I mentioned during the awards, the Kids Golf Foundation continues to grow. In fact, since the event we have already added additional programs, bringing our 2026 total to 91 programs throughout Illinois. We are on pace for a record-breaking year, and this growth would not be possible without the support of all of you. Thank you for helping us expand access for kids to learn and enjoy the game of golf.”

Our Sponsorship’s Impact

Gar Wood Securities' sponsorship provided over 80 participants with a brand-new beginner set of clubs, hat, polo, golf balls, tees, rules booklet, and bag tag, along with continued opportunities to keep playing once their program is complete.

For us, supporting the Kids Golf Foundation reflects something we believe: that access and opportunity matter, and that the financial industry has a role to play in the broader community, not just in the markets.

We're grateful to have been part of this year's Pro-Am, and we look forward to continuing this partnership. Learn more about the Kids Golf Foundation at kidsgolffoundation.org
